Further information
On a full-day tour, you'll learn about the origins of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese during a visit to a cheese factory in Parma.Find out how this cheese, protected by the EU, is still made following traditional methods, produced exclusively in the typical area of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena and parts of Bologna and Mantua, Parmesan dates back over 9 centuries.
Next, head to the picturesque hills of Langhirano, home to Prosciutto di Parma. The tour begins with a brief history of production, followed by a visit to the 'cold zone', where fresh meat is processed, learn how the best meat is chosen, and see the salting machinery and chilling/resting rooms.
Check out the curing chambers and taste the traditional aromas of ham in the air. Learn about the "spillatura" and how only the best hams pass the test and are labeled the famous "Crown of Parma". Finally, enjoy a Parma ham tasting accompanied by a glass of local wine.
Then moving to Modena, we will discover the secrets of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, one of the hidden and still little-known jewels of the Modena area. We will visit a historic producer of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and the visit will be followed by a tasting of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar DOP 12 years, 25 years and other IGP balsamic condiments

We visited two smaller produces for Parmigiano Reggiano and Proscuitto di Parma (tours done by ParmaLook) and visited a historied Balsamico di Modena producer (tour done by the producer). All the stops were very informative and included a decent number of tastings for each product.
I was most impressed with how the tour operators (Loris and our driver) was extremely accommodating to us, especially our two kids on a pretty long tour day. I am genuinely thankful and I won't forget the hospitality!
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting in the Emilia Romagna region - it is definitely worth it!

We were a bit unsure whether to choose the tour with just parmesan and Parma ham, but we read another review that said we had to include a visit to the balsamic farm, as there aren't many places like it, and we do not regret choosing it. All three places together made the food experience complete

One area for improvement would be the provision of water on the drive throughout the day.

Our guide, Matao, was such a delight. He had such passion for the products and companies and spoke with great knowledge. Additionally, the tour company was flexible and dropped us at Modeno's train station for our return to Bologna which saved us time. I highly recommend this tour!

Next the Prosciutto processing and aging and then tasting was so good. I’ve never tasted prosciutto so tender and flavorable in my life. The last stop was for Balsamic vinegar. We learned about the harvesting and aging process. Sampling so many different variations was delicious.
All in all a great experience that should not be missed.

With the parmesan production it was unique and interesting. You can see the whole process.
We also enjoyed the ham process detailed explanation.
Magic views on the way around.
The balsamic part we expected more.
It looked like the sale pitch, the tasting was not thought through. Spoons of multiple vinegars that we tasted, without any piece of crecker or any other food created an unpleasant sensation in the stomach, so we stopped tasting.
Otherwise great tour, well organized, I recommend it

The comprehensive itinerary covered local specialties like Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Parma ham, and balsamic vinegar. We visited traditional factories, witnessed production firsthand, and enjoyed generous tastings paired with local wines.
I highly recommend Parma Look for foodies looking to immerse themselves in Parma's culinary traditions. The knowledgeable guide, memorable experiences, and value for money make it a must-do for visitors to the region.

And great photo ops especially in the aging rooms surrounded by 25 to 50,000 wheels of cheese or hams.

It was a bit too long and the balsamico lasted way too much as quite a bit of travel in between.
For future, I will just do the half day tours.
Booked Italian but ended up being English
